Palo Duro Canyon is in the Texas Panhandle. Just a few miles before you arrive at the canyon, the landscape was flat, flat, flat for miles. I had never heard of Palo Duro until this trip. It's only about 40 miles from Amarillo, Texas.
David and Virginia, Devon and I are just catching up with the blog. My you make fast progress -- and climb steep hills! It's good to see that you have time for side trips and cultural institutions. We missed most of those on our trip west. We do have vague ambitions of going to Crystal Bridges and seeing the Ozarks someday, which will be by car, not bike.
