Beautiful morning in Northwest Washington, D.C. On D-Day minus 1. During this past week, we've had weather more like late September...80s during the day and 60s in the evening. We'll start loading up the car soon. Planning on an 8:00 am start on Sunday morning.

ReplyDeleteHave a great trip. The scenery will go by faster for you, but perhaps that will give you more time to stop for points of interest. In any case, we recommend staying off the interstates.

We've gotten off I81 now and then...mainly to discover large-scale industrial complexes and lots of closed, crumbling buildings and towns. But We'll no doubt be rewarded with some quaint towns and townsfolk. We had a slice of life in Abingdon this morning at the local breakfast cafe.
